Welcome to Cwmcroiddur ...Relax

Cwmcroiddur, pronounced 'coom-croy-ther'.

Translated, Cwmcroiddur means 'valley of clear water'

Self-catering holiday accommodation in peaceful mid Wales.

When we first discovered Cwmcroiddur, nestled in a crook of the Mallaen mountain, looking out over the lush Tywi valley, we knew that we'd come to an extraordinary place. The house, barn, cottage and assorted outbuildings seemed set back from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We knew immediately that this was where we wanted to live and work. Since then, we've done a great deal to bring the facilities at Cwmcroiddur up to date, and to soften our impact on this beautiful landscape.

Barcud Cottage, with its metre thick walls and traditional cottage feel, and Croiddur Barn, a stunning contemporary space are the result. In reinventing Cwmcroiddur for the 21st century, we've tried to make this a place where our guests can take their own time out.

We look forward to sharing our discovery with you.

Cwmcroiddur

Croiddur Barn with beautiful trees behind

A small country estate a mile from the picture-postcard village of Cilycwm, Cwmcroiddur started life as a hill farm hundreds of years ago. The original building, Barcud Cottage, still stands today. Croiddur Barn and Cwmcroiddur Farmhouse were added in the early nineteenth century and today, Barcud Cottage and Croiddur Barn are available to rent for holidays and short breaks.

A beautiful landscape

View from Cwmcroiddur

Cwmcroiddur nestles in a valley, with woodland on one side and open hillside on the other. To the south, there's an amazing panorama across lush rolling farmland to the peaks of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountain. Behind Cwmcroiddur, the land rises to miles of wild, open country. If it's walking, mountain biking, bird watching or just taking in the view that helps you unwind, then this is the place for you.

Plenty to do and see

Neuadd Fawr Arms Pub in Cilycwm

If you fancy packing a bit more into your holiday, how about panning for gold, or browsing the local antique shops and delis. There are castles and beaches, Cardiff's theatres and Swansea's Dylan Thomas Trail, all within easy reach. And just a walk away, the Neaudd Fawr Arms, Cilycwm's local pub, serving great food.

And after an action packed day, there's nothing better than listening to the breeze in the trees, while watching the Milky Way stretch across the clear night sky. More things to do during your holiday at Cwmcroiddur.
