Croiddur, pronounced: 'Kroy-thur'
Translated, Croiddur means 'Clear Water'
Croiddur Barn is a spacious and spectacular place to stay. Previous visitors have commented that staying in Croiddur Barn 'makes you feel rich'. There's plenty of room for five or six people to enjoy themselves, without being under each other's feet. This makes it ideal for family holidays and get-togethers. Croiddur Barn is popular for holidays and breaks all year round.
Mornings are lovely, you can just sit and listen to all the birds. In the afternoons you can go walking. The evenings are for pubs and drunken board games! Had another wonderful time here - thank you.

Dining Area
The dining area is in the central area of Croiddur Barn and is the heart of the building. The large windows allow superb views over the gardens of Cwmcroiddur to one side, and the mountains and woodland to the other. There's a recently installed contemporary kitchen, a substantial dining table and plenty of chairs. Guests who rent both Croiddur Barn and Barcud Cottage are easily able to eat together in the Barn. Eight designer Italian spotlights provide subtle, high quality lighting.
Kitchen
With an island unit, solid beech work surfaces, gas hob, electric oven and ceramic sink, you can enjoy cooking without being cut off from what everyone else if doing. There's a dishwasher, fridge and microwave as well as all the pots, pans, crockery and cutlery you're likely to need.
Lounge
Down four steps from the dining area, and taking up the full width of one end of the Barn, the lounge area feels very special. With the ceiling and roof beams thirty feet overhead, and a large window overlooking the land as it falls towards the Croiddur stream, it's a place that feels cosy and grand immediately. The lounge has a sofa, comfy chairs, cushions and throws. The LCD widescreen TV is here with FreeSat receiver and DVD player. A large wood-burning stove provides both heat and entertainment for the fire-raisers in your party!
With three of Croiddur Barn's signature arrow-slit windows, this is the perfect place to read, write or simply chat. There's a shelf of books, a collection of DVDs, CDs and board games.
Bedrooms
Croiddur Barn has three bedrooms, all at the opposite end to the Lounge. The twin and single rooms are on the ground floor, the double bedroom upstairs. There is a folding bed available for an additional person. Duvets, bed linen, two pillows per person and towels are provided.
All the rooms are light and airy and are simply decorated. Each bedroom has a hand-built vanity unit with washbasin, shelves, mirror and light. Beside each bed is a bedside cabinet with reading light. There is ample wardrobe space.
Bathroom
The bathroom is on the first floor next to the double bedroom. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, a washbasin with large mirror with lighting and the toilet. The hot water is supplied by the central heating system and, when the sun is out, it's heated using solar panels on the roof.
Heating
Croiddur Barn has a very efficient oil-fired central heating system to provide background heat. The condensing boiler is outside the Barn to minimise noise. This system is supplemented by the large wood-burning stove in the Lounge area which can heat the whole building in a surprisingly short time. We provide a good supply of firewood for when you arrive. You can have more should you need it at no extra cost.
Outdoors
Croiddur Barn has a large timber balcony in a private spot overlooking the Nant Croiddur stream and the Black Mountain beyond. The balcony is accessed via steps down from the Barn’s entrance courtyard. Visitors to Croiddur Barn can also use a large lawned area behind the Barn through a small birch wood up onto Mynydd Mallaen.
