Barcud Cottage
Barcud, pronounced: 'Bar-kid'
Translated, Barcud means 'Red Kite'
The intimate feel of Barcud Cottage is ideal for a couple, although there's plenty of space for a family of four to spend a week's holiday or short break. Barcud Cottage is cool in summer, cosy in winter and has a quietness that's only possible in buildings with such ancient and substantial stone walls.
A beautiful place to relax and recharge your batteries. The cottage is perfect.

Lounge, Dining Area and Kitchen
Downstairs, there's a comfortable lounge area, with FreeSat TV and CD player and reading light. The dining area has a round wooden table and chairs. Barcud Cottage's fully equipped kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, toaster and all the crockery and cutlery you're likely to need.
Bedrooms
The bedrooms in Barcud Cottage are a surprise. They are far more airy and spacious than might be expected from an ancient building. The double bedroom has windows to the front and side – both with spectacular views, while the twin bedroom has a window at the front and a Velux roof-light for night-time stargazing!
There is a walk-in wardrobe in the double bedroom, and a freestanding wardrobe in the twin room. Each room has bedside cabinets with reading lamps.
Each bedroom also has a hand-made vanity unit with basin and mixer tap, light and mirror.
Duvets, bed linen, two pillows per person and towels are provided.
Bathroom
The bathroom in Barcud Cottage has been completely refurbished. There is a bath with shower over, washbasin and toilet. All the taps are modern quarter turn models. Over the washbasin there's a large mirror with lights.
The walls are tiled with turquoise glass mosaic tiles, the bath surround is oiled hardwood and the floor is tiled with dark grey slate. There's a flexible slatted hardwood bath mat to keep your feet warm. The bathroom has a good size radiator and is a warm and cosy room. We provide all the towels you are likely to need (except beach towels).
